In support of IMSAf’s ongoing efforts to enhance organisational performance and provide employee development opportunities, the company is pleased to invite applications for an Artisan Electrician in the Technical Operations Department.

Minimum Requirements

  • At least 2 years’ experience in the Automotive Industry.
  • Qualified in the Electrical field (Trade Tested)
  • N6 Engineering Certificate would be advantageous
  • Computer literacy, knowledge and experience in Word, Excel and Windows.
  • Knowledge of Electrical reticulation and control systems, basic PLC Programs and HMI knowledge.
  • Background knowledge of Robotic systems and ability to drive a robot.
  • Knowledge of OHS act and its regulations, safety systems and standards.
  • Able to work overtime and rotating shifts as required.
  • Must be available after hours and weekend work.
  • Ability to work at heights.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analyse electrical drawings, plan and develop modifications for electrical circuits.
  • Root cause and Correct various faults on electronic, electrical, mechanical machinery and equipment.
  • Fault find using electrical drawings and HMI information
  • Participate in root cause analysis, corrective action and updating FMEA’s
  • Compile, complete, correct descriptions on documentation and HMI messaging
  • Interpret and Analyse programmable logic controller programmes.
  • Interpret and Analyse HMI data, correct faults and messaging on equipment and PLC / HMI interfaces.
  • Work on SCADA interfaces to equipment and process controls.
  • Conduct and record mandatory inspections in accordance with OHS Act and regulatory safety requirements.
  • Analyse robotic systems for fault finding on installations, setting up, programming, maintenance, and process improvements.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on both mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Identify unsafe conditions, repair and report immediately.
  • Participate in all Maintenance Manufacturing Systems (BPD, SAFETY, TIP, CIP, PM).
  • Develop Update Task Instruction Sheets, lockout placards and risk assessments.
  • Identify and eliminate waste in the workplace.
