Your duties will include:
- Ensure Learners under your supervision adhere to all relevant safety standards and procedures.
- Active participation in SLAMs, HPHs, relevant Risk Assessments and close-out of Safety Actions.
- Performance and Delivery
- Equipment and Machinery Maintenance:
- Maintain and test all light motor vehicles, mobile cranes, or other relevant equipment/machinery to ensure functionality, safety, reliability, and availability to complete jobs within the specified timeframe and budgetary limits.
- Conduct inspections to identify possible failures and repair or raise notifications for repairs.
- Ensure adequate maintenance of HME / plant equipment and related machinery to ensure optimal utilisation and availability toward maximising production and throughput schedule.
- Identify and report defects, equipment failures and time required to repair the Supervisor to enable applicable decision-making, action planning and problem resolution.
- Ensure work is executed as per Operating Model standards and procedures.
- Ensure job cards are completed in full and returned on time.
- Ensure all toolboxes and tools are kept in good condition.
- Ensure proper communication and handover of outstanding tasks between shifts and day-shift teams.
- Continuously monitor maintenance progress and related preparation activities against ad hoc to meet operational targets, minimise downtime, enable timely reporting and enhance equipment efficiency.
- Assistance and Practices:
- Provide proactive advice on all maintenance-related matters and ad hoc jobs to all concerned parties, aligned with best practices and within agreed-upon timeframes, to avoid possible problems and uplift the competence base.
- Liaise with relevant personnel to arrange assistance regarding resources required (equipment and people) to ensure successful task execution.
- Assist the supervisor and co-workers according to their level/area of competence and follow company policies when instructed or during the responsible person’s absence to ensure the achievement of functional objectives.
- Qualifications
-• Grade 12 Certificate / N3 Technical
- Qualified as an Artisan (Auto Electrician)
- SA Drivers Licence
- MV Certificate (advantageous)
Experience
Technical Knowledge
- 2 Years’ operational experience.
- Knowledge of safety standards.
- Familiarity with company policies and procedures.
- Experience with PLC exposure and high and low voltage fault finding.
- Expertise in systems and technology, including H1 communication systems, Profibus systems, S7 PLC programming, optic fibre communication, and high voltage networks 11 kv.
- Understanding of lock-out procedures.
