A fitter and turner is a skilled tradesperson who specializes in manufacturing, assembling, and repairing mechanical parts and equipment. They work primarily in industrial settings, using both manual skills and precision machinery to create and maintain various components.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum Grade 12 (Matric).
Must be qualified Fitter and Turner Red Seal.
10 years experience in the steel environment.
Must have a strong experience on machine and Centre Lathe.
Must be able to read and understand technical drawings.
Must be able to work under pressure and be a self-starter.
Able to read, write and communicate in English.
Have a valid crane licence.
Prepared to work shifts and overtime.
Working knowledge of Health and Safety.
Duties and Responsibilities
Machine and Lathe work daily.
General maintenance in workshop and plant.
Maintain the safety and housekeeping procedures as required.
