WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Do maintenance work in explosives area (Hazardous Area) and the rest of the factory, including offices, structures, etc. (Non Hazardous Areas)
- Analyse, diagnose and repair faults on critical engineering installations and electrical systems.
- Do electrical installations in hazardous and non-hazardous areas under direct control of Master Installation Electrician.
- Do statutory inspections, and repairs, on conductive flooring, lightning protection, earthing and bonding.
- Do statutory inspection on flame proof equipment in the hazardous locations (Explosives Plants)
- Inspections on switchgear and BTU’s
- An understanding and knowledge of control instrumentation and drawings would be advantages.
- To fully understand the working of the electrical systems, utility services, plant and equipment within the plant and to work in compliance with:
- Occupational health and safety act.
- Explosives regulations.
- Electrical Installation Regulation.
- Electrical Machinery Regulation.
- Other legal and regulatory controls and documentation.
WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE
- N3 Certificate or equivalent.
- Electrician Trade Certificate
- 3 years’ experience post qualification as maintenance, construction or installation electrician in petro chemical industry will be advantages.
- Knowledge of inspection of flame proof equipment in hazardous area.
- Good electrical insight in the repair of machinery and equipment.
- Code 8 driver’s license.
- Willingness to work shifts and overtime.
