Education

Essential:

  • Eligible for professional registration as a Technician at the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA);
  • National Diploma in Electrical Engineering at NQF level 6.

Advantageous:

  • Clinical Engineering with two years additional experience and training in the maintenance and management of medical equipment in a Hospital environment
  • Member of the South African Association of Clinical Engineers (CEASA).

Work experience

Essential:

  • 1 year experience in maintenance and management of medical equipment in hospitals.

Knowledge

Essential:

  • Intermediate computer literacy in MS Office.
  • Familiar with the Occupational Health & Safety- and Health Act regulations

Advantageous:

  • Good communication skills and the ability to transfer information through practical interaction with a wide range of staff.
  • Good verbal and written skills.
  • Ability to work under stressful conditions.
  • Ability and willingness to be on stand-by and partake in a call-out system.
  • Continuous interaction with suppliers and attendance of technology updates are to form an integral part of continuous education and training.
