Full job description
An electrical maintenance operator supports production by providing effective equipment maintenance and reliability while adhering to procedures/codes and utilizing all available support resources to increase stability and maintain sustainability of the plant.
Functional outputs:
- Execution of tasks associated with maintenance inspections and strategies.
- Be able to perform all electrical maintenance operator functions related to chemical plant and maintenance, operations support and fault finding.
- Be able to assist with modifications/upgrades on existing systems.
- Ability to scope and execute small tasks.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, for small power.
- Perform Electrical IMS inspections (SHERQ).
- Adhere to compliance to the MOC process for changes to existing plant and equipment.
- Data extraction and analysis (fault finding, etc.).
- Have a practical understanding of EX and hazardous area classifications.
- Attend to outages planning and execution experience.
- Ensure full compliance to section 14 of the OHS act.
- Ensure full compliance to Enaex task risk assessments, work instructions and working procedures.
- Perform installation, testing and commissioning new/repaired electrical installations in accordance with Enaex specifications.
- Proactive identification and correction of defects and preventative maintenance.
- Support artisans and other disciplines.
- Participation in housekeeping.
- Matric with Maths, Science and English or N3 and Business English.
- Driver’s license (code 08).
- Computer literate.
- Have a working understanding of the electrical installation regulations (OHS act).
