 Purpose of the Apprenticeship

NWK is offering an exciting Boilermaker Apprenticeship opportunity for individuals passionate about metalwork and fabrication. The programme provides structured practical and theoretical training in boilermaking processes under the supervision of qualified artisans. As the programme progresses, apprentices will develop skills and confidence to handle more advanced technical tasks.

 Key Responsibilities For The NWK Boilermaker Apprenticeship Program

 Practical Training

• Perform tasks and duties as assigned by qualified artisans

• Assist with the fitting, assembly, and fabrication of boiler components

• Prepare metal surfaces, clean parts, and maintain tools and work areas

• Apply practical knowledge in real-world settings

• Complete all practical modules required for certification

 Theoretical Training

• Attend accredited training classes

• Study and complete technical subjects related to boilermaking and metalwork

• Work through structured theoretical modules

• Apply theory to daily practical assignments and workshop activities

 Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (National Senior Certificate)

• N3 qualification or Grade 12-level technical subjects (advantageous)

• Strong manual dexterity and problem-solving skills

• Good understanding of technical drawings and measurements

• Able to identify and report defects or issues in materials or equipment

• Fluent in Afrikaans and/or English (reading, writing, speaking)

• Medically fit to perform physically demanding tasks
