Applicants are invited to apply for the Bidvest Electrical Handyman Position
We are seeking a skilled Handyman / Maintenance Technician to perform timeous, high-quality planned maintenance, preventive services, and emergency repairs across building facilities and related equipment. The successful candidate will ensure operational efficiency by maintaining electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general building systems in compliance with OHSA regulations and ISO 9001 standards.
Main Responsibilities & Key Outputs

Execute tasks according to job cards (work orders) as per client and company service level agreements (SLA).

Investigate, diagnose, and restore malfunctioning equipment to full working condition.

Perform minor electrical repairs and servicing of equipment and appliances.

Assist with office movement tasks, including installation of furniture, shop fitting, repairing doors, locks, handles, and windows; replacing ceiling tiles, carpet tiles, and performing paint touch-ups.

Conduct minor plumbing repairs and servicing of related fixtures and pipelines.

Maintain and service fast doors and roller shutter doors.

Inspect and report on access control systems and fire-fighting equipment to ensure compliance.

Provide assistance to artisans with major repairs, maintenance, and servicing tasks.

Deliver consistent updates and feedback to the Facilities Manager / Service Manager / Building Manager / Commercial Coordinator on task progress and restoration status.

Perform additional duties and assignments as required by management.
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements For The Bidvest Electrical Handyman PositionÂ

Matric (Senior Certificate)
-
N3 Technical Qualification in Electrical or Mechanical studies

Valid South African Driver’s License
-
At least 3 years of relevant experience in building and facilities maintenance

Basic training and proficiency in hand tools, electrical systems, and mechanical equipment

Sound knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA) and ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems
