About the Apprenticeship Programme
The Manufacturing, Engineering and Related Services Sector Education and Training Authority (merSETA), in collaboration with Sekhukhune TVET College, is offering Apprenticeship Opportunities for 2025. This programme is designed for unemployed youth who want to start a career in engineering, manufacturing, and mechanical trades.

Apprenticeship Fields and Requirements For The merSETA 2025 Artisan Apprentices
1. Diesel Mechanic Apprenticeship
-
Grade 12 with Pure Mathematics (Technical Subjects are an advantage)
-
NCV Level 2–4 in Automotive Repair and Maintenance (all 21 subjects completed)
-
N2–N6 Mechanical Engineering (must include N2 Diesel/Motor Trade Theory)
2. Fitter and Turner Apprenticeship
-
Grade 12 with Pure Mathematics (Technical Subjects are an advantage)

NCV Level 2–4 in Fitting and Turning (all 21 subjects completed)
-
N2–N6 Mechanical Engineering (must include N2 Fitting Trade Theory)
3. Boilermaker Apprenticeship
-
Grade 12 with Pure Mathematics (Technical Subjects are an advantage)

NCV Level 2–4 in Fabrication (all 21 subjects completed)
-
N2–N6 Mechanical Engineering
Eligibility Criteria

Must be under 35 years old

Preference will be given to Sekhukhune TVET College graduates

Applicants must meet the minimum requirements to be considered

Shortlisted candidates will undergo assessment processes

Successful candidates will sign an ETQA Agreement and Employment Contract
