We’re on the lookout for an experienced Senior Mechanical Technician to provide high-level technical support to the mechanical and related departments, specifically relating to plant optimization, maintenance, projects, and fault diagnosis in order to maximize the availability of the plant.
As a Senior Mechanical Technician, you will be responsible for:
- Develop maintenance schedules for plant equipment in consultation with the Engineer and Foreman
- Understand the OHS requirements including Pressure Testing, NDT, and lifting equipment inspection for Maintenance task
- Ensure all modifications and projects conform fully to Mill Change Management Procedures, Mill Standard Specifications, Mill Safety Standards, and the OHS Act
- Providing high-level technical support to the maintenance sections including operations in troubleshooting, researching, and investigating new equipment and technology
What are we looking for?
- Relevant NQF level 6 qualification (National Diploma Mechanical Engineering or related field) while an NQF level 7 qualification (BTech Mechanical Engineering) will be considered advantageous
- 5 years of relevant experience within a heavy industry environment
- Proven supervisory experience will be considered advantageous
