Key Activities & Responsibilities
- Carries out planned maintenance in allocated sections as instructed by Automation Engineer.
- Do daily plant inspections and report defects.
- Report all defects found and propose a remedial action and or close these defects where possible.
- Utilize trade skills in a professional manner, working cleanly, precisely and ensuring others that work with him/her does the same.
- Complete and sign work sheets after completion of each task daily.
- Complete the defect list and or check list as instructed by Automation Engineer.
- Make sure that all instruments are calibrated, and an instrument a calibration system is updated after each calibration.
- Make sure that all tags related to a particular instrument are displayed clearly and instruments are cleaned and in good order.
- Attend to breakdowns and or assist Electrical or Mechanical on problem solving where needed
- Quick and efficient fault finding, think and perform under pressure. Regular feedback to Automation Engineer.
- Make quick and healthy decisions based on critical and priority activities.
- After completion of the repairs, test machine or equipment and communicate.
- He/she is proactive and prevent breakdowns
What will make you successful?
- N4 Instrumentation with Trade Test or National Diploma in Instrumentation
- 3 years’ experience in instrumentation
- Ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders
- Demonstration a sense of urgency whilst never compromising safety or product quality
- Experience of hazardous area ratings and installations
- Knowledge of controls systems, data interfaces and communications protocols
- Good interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical & problem-solving skills
