Description
  • Fabricating from complex drawings and marking off basic regular engineering shapes. Cutting, drilling and punching, assembling and mechanically joining structural steel work.
  • Assembling and mechanically joining sheets, plates, tubes, pipes and steel sections. Performing heat treatment processes on engineering metals.
  • Maintaining belt conveyor components. Operating cranes, lifting and moving material and equipment by means of a forklift.
  • Attending to call-outs with regards to breakdowns. Write technical reports. Conduct on-the-job coaching.

Requirements

·      NQF 4 (National Senior Certificate or Grade 12 or Adult Senior Certificate) with English literacy or N2 in Engineering studies
·      Completed formal Learnership programme prior to obtaining a Boilermaker artisan trade certificate as recognised by the MQA
·      Minimum 3 years experience as a Boilermaker Artisan / Aide /Apprentice within a mining  environment.

·      Qualified with trade papers (section 13 or 26D)

·      Be able to read Engineering drawings for manufacturing
·      Shaft experience will be advantageous

·      Valid Certificate of physical fitness

·      Ability to read and write in English

·      Ability to communicate with people on different levels

·      Own Transport as position requires standby
·      Drivers License
