Utilities Technician- Mechanical
Duties & Responsibilities:
Person will be responsible for,
  • Managing of the factory utilities (steam generation, water treatment, compressed air, plant air conditioning & ammonia plant).
  • Coordination of the mechanical, electrical and instrumentation maintenance of the boilers and water treatment sections.
  • Facilitating & execution of utilities related projects.
  • Managing factory infrastructure
  • Compliance on statutory requirements to ensure that all pressure vessels, safety relief valves & lifting equipment are kept in operation in accordance to the OHSAct.
  • Accountable and responsible for fire protection and security.
  • Preparing and managing the utility services and engineering projects budgets
  • Driving cost reduction initiatives
  • Designing and implementing maintenance systems in services
  • Managing legal compliance, pressure vessels, Lifts, etc.
Desired experience & Qualifications
  • Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Relevant Trade Test (fitter or millwright)
  • Strong knowledge & experience on utilities systems such as boilers, ammonia refrigeration, air compressors and chilled water
  • Asset care experience is mandatory
  • 5 – 10 years’ experience within a similar manufacturing environment
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel
  • Good understanding of OHS Act
  • A sense of urgency
  • Proficient in SAP (maintenance scheduling & order placing)
  • Strong planning and execution skills (proven track record)
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels (assertive and forthright)
  • Hands on individual
  • Actively seeks solutions to problem
  • An ability to get results through a team
