Utilities Technician- Mechanical
Duties & Responsibilities:
Person will be responsible for,
- Managing of the factory utilities (steam generation, water treatment, compressed air, plant air conditioning & ammonia plant).
- Coordination of the mechanical, electrical and instrumentation maintenance of the boilers and water treatment sections.
- Facilitating & execution of utilities related projects.
- Managing factory infrastructure
- Compliance on statutory requirements to ensure that all pressure vessels, safety relief valves & lifting equipment are kept in operation in accordance to the OHSAct.
- Accountable and responsible for fire protection and security.
- Preparing and managing the utility services and engineering projects budgets
- Driving cost reduction initiatives
- Designing and implementing maintenance systems in services
- Managing legal compliance, pressure vessels, Lifts, etc.
Desired experience & Qualifications
- Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Relevant Trade Test (fitter or millwright)
- Strong knowledge & experience on utilities systems such as boilers, ammonia refrigeration, air compressors and chilled water
- Asset care experience is mandatory
- 5 – 10 years’ experience within a similar manufacturing environment
- Intermediate to advanced Excel
- Good understanding of OHS Act
- A sense of urgency
- Proficient in SAP (maintenance scheduling & order placing)
- Strong planning and execution skills (proven track record)
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels (assertive and forthright)
