Key Responsibilities
- To integrate quality into the business by ensuring that every customer contact is a demonstration of absolute dedication towards providing first-time ideal solutions for the satisfaction of customers’ immediate and future needs.
- To implement ISO standards and Global SOP procedures at all times.
- Prepare import documentation for all outbound WPX shipments to ensure their expeditious passage through the network (invoices, pro-forma invoices, customs clearance forms).
- Maintain relationships with customs officials, other departments, and service centers as well as customers to ensure timeous movement of export shipments ex-service centers.
- Liaise closely with the Customs Affairs Supervisor with regards to problem shipments ex-service centers.
- Register and frame entries (SAD500, DA65, and BLNS) thereby ensuring that importer and consignee details correspond with awb/exporter’s invoice.
- Ensure absolute care when choosing tariff headings and etc.
- Ensure that each entry, upon signing, is checked for correctness; pay careful attention to: Importer
- Tariff heading/rebate code Exchange rate/currency
- Repair and returns/customs supervision
- Liaise with customs, customers, service centers, management, and staff verbally as well as in writing, thus increasing efficiency within own operating area.
Minimum Requirements
Education & experience
- Matric
- Diploma in Customs or equivalent qualification
- 5-7 years experience with Courier Imports
- Customs clearance part 1 and part 2
- Good knowledge of Customs and Excise and Procedures
- Computer Literate
- Valid driver’s license
- Good communication skills in English
- Ability to manage time and be punctual
- Ability to work well under pressure
