Introduction
Murray & Roberts Cementation invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Artisan Millwright to be placed in Rustenburg Workshop Engineering. The successful candidate will report to the Foreman. The company will provide remuneration and benefits relevant and appropriate to the position. Preference will be given to Historically Disadvantaged South African (HDSA) candidates. Applications only open to South African Citizens / Permanent Residents.
Job description
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:
- Cost containment, high mean time to failure after repairs
- Competent, motivated, disciplined and positive team player
- Engineering installations are constructed, overhauled and maintained according to agreed standards, procedures and specifications
- Compliance with SHEQ, M&RC and client standards, policies, procedures and safety protocols
- Engineering equipment is repaired according to agreed standards, procedures and schedules
- Effective stakeholder engagement
- Effective self and team supervision in alignment with MRC values and leadership initiatives
Minimum requirements
Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:

- Grade 12 or NQF 4 equivalent
- Section 26 Millwright Trade Certificate / MIETTB Trade Certificate through a registered body
- Valid First aid Certificate
- Valid Medical Certificate of Fitness
- Valid Code EB driver’s license
Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:

- 5 year’s mining industry experience (underground and surface )
- 5 year’s trade experience as a Millwright
- Advanced maintenance and repair knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, . engines, drives, electrical control systems, electrical installations, motors, switchgear, mobile machines, brake systems, inspections and Pipe column design.
- Knowledge of trackless mining and trackless mobile machinery, Fabrication and installations.
