Overview of Duties
- Assist in installing light and heavy current electrical systems,
- Assist mentor to install lighting, electrical outlets, and circuit breakers.
- Thread conduit ends and connect couplings and conduit fittings using wrench or other plastic conduit systems.
- Secure brackets to bulkheads with screws and bolts and pull wires through conduit leading to connection boxes, switch panels, and other terminals
- Use tools such as conduit benders, screwdrivers, pliers, knives, hacksaws, and wire strippers.
- Replace faulty circuit breakers, fuses, switches, electrical and electronic components, or wire under supervision
- Replace old fuse boxes.
- Hook up appliances and equipment for power under supervision.
- Work with an artisan to install new lighting and ceiling fans.
- Assist in the repair of motors, transformers, electronic controllers and other devices inthe various facilities of AHRI in Durban and Somkhele
- Rewire offices, laboratories, plant room section according to wiring diagrams andinstruction of a certified electrical engineer
- Assist in electrical system, refrigeration, UPS and HVAC inspections
- Adhere to health and safety policies and procedures
1. National Senior Certificate Grade 12
2. National Diploma or above in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
3. Driver’s License
