Job Description
- Set up and manufacture items based on information detailed in engineering drawings in accordance with set times.
- Measure and inspect own work to ensure that it meets the specifications detailed on the drawings.
- Accountable for housekeeping in area around machine.
- Accountable for own safety, safety of machine and the work environment.
- Do basic maintenance (First line) on machine.
- Perform safety inspections on machine(s).
- Suggest and make improvements on quality, efficiency and safety aspects of the job.
- Assist in the training of new incumbents/multi-skilling in the workshop.
- Accountable for contributing to building a high performance, high morale engineering team.
- Assist management with daily workshop related tasks.
Qualifications & Experience
- Matric / N3 Qualification in Turner/Machinist/Toolmaker.
- Must be a qualified artisan (Trade Tested) with minimum 3-5 year Milling machine experience after Trade Test date.
- Must have passed out fit for purpose certification e.g., clearance certificate issuer/ acceptance.
- Competent to perform maintenance on industrial machinery, MMU’s or UBS or pumps or emulsion plants.
- Capable of performing fault finding diagnostics on all equipment across all engineering disciplines.
- Knowledge of the OHS Act and Explosive Act.
- In-depth knowledge of engineering related principles and standards.
- Knowledge of maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of contract management, asset care and hazard control.
- Intermediate MS Projects.
