Key outputs and responsibilities:
- Initiate the training and development process
- Get relevant input for, Annual Training Plan and all other problem solving discussion i.e. 5Why’s, abnormality reports, walk about
- Engage with L&D Coordinator regarding suitable solutions where the training solution does not exist/not part of the Annual Training Calendar Prepare for training
- Coordinate the logistics of the required training and ensure relevant candidates are present and available
- Request Purchase Order requests from the NOCC L&D Services team for external training as per the signed off LNA
- Obtain approval from Zone L&D Coordinators for costs not included in the LNA Implement the learning process
- Effective use of SOP’s
- Draw on the expertise of SME’s to run learning programs
- Ensure all training completed is captured in training registers
- Ensure all training registers and events are recorded
- Adapt training program to meet the needs of the team / plant / audience Reporting
- Ensure the relevant KPI’s are reported against weekly and monthly routines
- Complete the Level 1 evaluations for formal classroom training, analyze the results and develop actions that will improve training effectiveness 2 Artisan Development Controller x3.
- Deliver the Apprentice Program in accordance with DHET guidelines and business requirements
- Maintain learner records and Portfolio of Evidence
- Evaluate the effectiveness of the Apprentice Program
- Assess/Moderate Trade Test assessments.
- Develop, deliver and evaluate Artisan Skills learning solutions
- Implement Artisan Development Programs across the Zone
- Customize and align programs to operational needs
- Deliver training for new equipment/machines skills requirements
- Deliver the cross-skilling programs to build Artisan Capability
- Facilitate and present, conduct functional workplace coaching
- Initiate and lead projects (Workshops and facilities upgrades)
- Maintain training facilities and equipment
- Support the management of spend for projects, equipment and consumables to ensure Cost of Training/FTE is optimized
Profile:
- Government Certified Fitter/Fitter & Turner/Millwright/Instrumentation or Electrical Trade Test
- N6 Certificate or equivalent in related Engineering field
- At least 3 – 5 years’ experience as an qualified artisan in a manufacturing environment
- NAMB Accredited Assessor and Moderator
- An ODETDP Certificate would be an advantage
- Willing to travel within the Africa Zone
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills
- Superior facilitation and presentation skills
