Media24: Personal Assistant

The assistant’s responsibilities include:

  • arranging meetings and conferences
  • arranging travel and accommodation, locally as well as internationally
  • diary management and drawing up a year plan
  • general support to the Publishing Manager, Exco and the editorial department
  • general administrative support
  • liaison with authors, the media and other stakeholders
  • correspondence on behalf of the Publishing Manager
  • keeping minutes of meetings
  • populating databases

 

The successful candidate:

 

 

  • has a relevant tertiary qualification
  • is computer literate (MS Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • is completely bilingual in Afrikaans and English and has superior writing skills in both languages
  • has excellent organisational abilities and keeps to deadlines
  • is meticulous and gives attention to detail
  • is a team player with good interpersonal relationships
  • has initiative and is flexible
  • is interested in books and the publishing industry

 

Experience of the book industry and knowledge of BookMaster will serve as a recommendation.
