 Job Description

This 3-year training programme provides a structured learning experience designed to equip learners with the technical, practical, and theoretical knowledge required to perform effectively in the electrical engineering environment.

During the programme, trainees will:

• Participate in classroom-based theoretical instruction.

• Receive practical, workplace-based training under supervision.

• Gain exposure to Eskom’s safety, quality, and operational standards.

• Prepare for the Trade Test in the chosen field of study.

Upon successful completion, learners will receive a Trade Test Certificate, opening doors to employment opportunities within Eskom and the broader South African engineering sector.

 Minimum Requirements For The Eskom 2025 Electrical Apprentice

Qualification(s):

• Grade 12 / Matric with:

  • Mathematics: minimum 50%

  • Physical Science: minimum 50%

  • English: minimum 40%

OR

• N3 Engineering Certificate with:

  • Mathematics: minimum 50%

  • Physical Science: minimum 50%

  • English: minimum 40%

OR

• NCV Level 4 with:

  • Mathematics: minimum 50%

  • Physical Science: minimum 50%

  • English: minimum 40%
