We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our team, responsible for the maintenance and repair of Underground Fixed Plant Equipment on a shift basis. Key Responsibilities for the PMC Various Artisan Jobs
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Performing repairs and maintenance on all Electrical & Instrumentation equipment in the underground environment.
- Participating in small-scale projects aimed at improving equipment performance and efficiency.
- Assisting the supervisor in maintaining compliance with the planned maintenance system.
- Conducting root cause analysis (RCA) on instrumentation breakdowns to minimize downtime.
- Executing scheduled and preventative maintenance on the Open Transport Network (OTN) and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) hardware.
- Ensuring strict adherence to SHEQ standards and safety protocols.
- Performing legal inspections on relevant underground equipment.
- Troubleshooting and fault-finding on Profibus DP/PA and ASI Bus systems to ensure seamless operation.
Required Skills & Competencies
To succeed in this role, you should possess the following:
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of underground instrumentation and control systems.
- Fault-Finding Abilities: Ability to diagnose and resolve instrumentation and electrical issues efficiently.
- Siemens PLC & SCADA Systems: Experience working with Siemens PLCs, CCTV systems, Local Area Networks (LAN), and telephone systems.
- SHEQ Compliance: Understanding and application of Palabora Integrated SHEQ systems.
- Communication Skills: Clear and effective communication to collaborate with team members and supervisors.
- Initiative & Independence: A self-starter who requires minimal supervision and takes ownership of tasks.
- Hazard Identification: Ability to assess risks associated with the job and take proactive measures to ensure safe work practices.
- Flexibility & Adaptability: Willingness to work shifts and adapt to operational changes.
Qualifications & Experience
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Qualified Instrument Mechanician (must provide proof of Trade Certificate and Statement of Results).
- Valid Driver’s License (required for site access).
- Computer Literacy (ability to work with maintenance and reporting software).
- Minimum of Three Years’ Experience working with:
- Industrial instrumentation systems, including Profibus DP/PA and ASI Bus.
- Siemens PLC and SCADA systems.
- Preventative maintenance and troubleshooting in a mining or industrial setting.
