Introduction
This position is located near Aggeneys in the Northern Cape. We are seeking a dedicated Housekeeping and Engineering Maintenance Assistant to support our engineering and housekeeping activities on-site.
Job Description
The primary purpose of this role is to provide assistance in engineering maintenance tasks and housekeeping duties, under the supervision of the artisan or supervisor. You will be responsible for ensuring efficient operations and contributing to a safe and productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities For The Engineering Maintenance Assistant.
Support Engineering Maintenance: Lift, hold, position, and support parts and materials manually or with appropriate tools as directed.
Component Assembly and Disassembly: Assist in the dismantling and re-assembling of components under instruction from the artisan.
Material Handling: Load and off-load materials and parts from transport vehicles.
Storage and Transport: Move materials to and from storage areas by hand or using non-self-propelled equipment.
Assist in Installations and Breakdowns: Help with installations and breakdowns, following guidance from the artisan or engineering supervisor.
Housekeeping: Perform routine housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Safety and Observational Tasks: Carry out safety checks, such as fire watch and pipeline leak inspections, as directed by the artisan or supervisor.
Qualification Requirements
Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent.
Experience and Skills Requirements
At least 1 year of experience in the mining industry is preferred.
Proficiency in English for effective communication.
Strong knowledge of workplace safety and procedures.
Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently.
