Job Description
- To provide technical support and maintenance services to the plant and site.
- To record tasks and jobs on the maintenance system
- Order required spares and materials from stores and site
- To assist with minor projects and plant upgrades relevant to the plant and trade.
- Perform maintenance duties in areas of the site and plant as instructed by the Engineering & operations Manager.
- Use Trade specific knowledge and experience in the in the application of engineering principles to effect practical solutions.
- Work on, maintain and inspect Pressure vessels, pressurised systems, tanks, valves, pumps, steam plant and systems, gearboxes, conveyors and associated equipment.
- To liaise with production personnel in order to coordinate maintenance and repairs jobs.
- To guide, coach and mentor Apprentices.
- Comply with Site specific safety regulations, procedures and Company rules
Qualifications & Experience
- Grade 12
- Red Seal Trade Test.
- Minimum 3-5 Years of experience in a plant maintenance environment
- Knowledge of MMU’s and Bulk Plant operation and maintenance
- An extensive knowledge of the tools and equipment required for the trade
- Awareness of costs and budget requirements of the department and the plant and to plan and work accordingly
- Ability to trouble shoot and find resolutions
- Must be trained in with, and be able to use emergency safety equipment i.e. breathing apparatus sets and air mask sets in difficult conditions
