Nkomati Anthracite, a leading name in the coal mining industry, is seeking a qualified and experienced Electrician to join our dynamic team at Mangweni Underground Shaft, located in Nkomazi, just outside Malelane.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

Grade 12 / Matric Certificate or equivalent qualification

Valid Trade Test Certificate: Electrician
-
Gases and Flameproof Certificates (essential)
-
Basic welding and gas equipment knowledge
-
Strong understanding of Medium Voltage (MV) and Low Voltage (LV) electrical systems
-
Minimum 5 years’ experience working as an Electrician in an underground coal mine
-
Valid driver’s license
-
Familiarity with JAE battery scoops
-
Must be declared medically fit to work underground by an Occupational Medical Practitioner (OMP)
Key Responsibilities:
-
Conduct routine maintenance and electrical repairs on JAE battery scoops and related underground mining equipment
-
Install and commission new electrical components and ensure compliance with mining industry standards
-
Perform detailed fault-finding and troubleshooting of electrical systems
-
Conduct safety inspections, visual checks, and compliance testing
-
Mentor and train new operators, learners, and technicians in electrical systems
-
Supervise and manage electrical installation tasks to ensure quality, safety, and compliance
-
Participate in workplace safety practices and support Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHS) requirements
-
Ensure accurate record-keeping of inspections, repairs, and upgrades
