Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and hands-on General Maintenance Assistant to join our facilities team. The successful candidate will assist skilled artisans in performing essential maintenance duties aimed at extending the lifespan and ensuring the functionality of company infrastructure and assets.
This role involves performing a variety of building, plumbing, and general maintenance tasks. Key Responsibilities for the ARC Artisan Assistant Job Opportunity

Assist artisans with repairs, installations, and preventive maintenance of buildings and infrastructure

Repair and replace leaking water pipes, geysers, and taps

Clean and maintain all building gutters and downpipes to prevent blockages and water damage

Perform basic roofing repairs and general maintenance on roofing structures

Maintain and clean sewerage pump systems and stormwater drainage systems

Perform general construction work including bricklaying and concrete patching

Maintain and repair irrigation systems as required

Conduct routine checks on building facilities to ensure safety and efficiency

Perform ad hoc maintenance tasks as required across the organization
Minimum Requirements

Matric / Senior Certificate

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in general building and infrastructure maintenance

Experience with maintenance of laboratory furniture is an advantage
-
Basic knowledge of plumbing, roofing, and construction is required

A valid driver’s license will be an added advantage

Must be reliable, hard-working, and able to work independently or in a team
