About the Opportunity:

Siza Water, a progressive and equal opportunity employer, is offering an exciting Electrician Learnership opportunity for a motivated and technically inclined individual who is passionate about electrical engineering. This learnership is a fantastic chance to gain hands-on experience and develop essential technical skills in the water services sector.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful applicant will be expected to perform the following duties, among others:

  • Assist qualified electricians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems.

  • Participate in both planned and emergency maintenance at water treatment plants, pump stations, and reservoirs.

  • Support fault finding and troubleshooting of electrical faults and various equipment, including:

    • Motors

    • Variable Speed Drives (VSDs)

    • Basic electrical instruments

  • Learn to read and interpret technical drawings and electrical schematics.

  • Complete all required learnership assignments, assessments, and logbooks in accordance with the programme.

  • Assist with sump cleaning tasks and standby duties when necessary.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Matric/Grade 12 (with Mathematics and Physical Science preferred)

  • Electrical Engineering Certificate (N2 – N3)

  • Prior exposure to industrial environments will be advantageous

  • A valid Code 10 Driver’s License

  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn in a hands-on technical environment
