Role Purpose

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Artisan (Electrical, Mechanical & Civil) to perform maintenance and repair tasks on agriculture-related machinery, equipment, and infrastructure. This role involves hands-on repair, routine inspections, breakdown management, and adherence to health and safety standards, contributing to operational efficiency in the agricultural environment.


Minimum Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Trade Certificate in Electrical

  • Valid Driver’s License

  • Wireman’s License (advantageous)

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years in mechanical and civil maintenance or repair

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Supervisory and leadership capabilities

  • Working knowledge of disciplinary procedures

  • Strong administrative skills

  • Mechanical, plumbing, and boilermaking experience

  • Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals and technical diagrams


Key Responsibilities

Technical Duties

  • Conduct routine inspections of agricultural machinery and infrastructure in line with supplier maintenance manuals.

  • Execute planned preventative maintenance and emergency repairs.

  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and implement efficient corrective action.

  • Support handymen with technical guidance on faults outside their scope.

  • Issue daily Certificates of Compliance for engineering-related repairs.

Tool and Equipment Management

  • Identify and maintain the correct tools, equipment, and materials.

  • Ensure tools are well-maintained and safely stored after each use.

SHEQ Compliance

  • Maintain safe and secure working conditions.

  • Follow all health, safety, and environmental protocols.

  • Ensure Total Integrated Management System (TIMS) documentation is consistently applied.

Teamwork & Leadership

  • Supervise, train, and develop handymen to artisan level.

  • Discipline team members where necessary following company procedures.

  • Promote collaboration, ownership, and accountability within the maintenance team.


Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Health and Safety Compliance

  • Timely and quality completion of repairs and maintenance

  • Effective prioritization and scheduling of tasks

  • Accurate problem identification and resolution

  • Completion and accuracy of job cards, time sheets, and compliance certificates


General Responsibilities

  • Maintain records of all maintenance work including spare part requisitions (SSR) and purchase requests (BR).

  • Participate in standby duties as required.

  • Provide daily feedback and reports to the supervisor.

  • Support the implementation of the departmental training and development plan.
