Job Description
-As a Master Electrician you will be accountable for:
- Maintaining and repairing of electrical systems, machinery and equipment to ensure optimum plant availability and reliability
- Advanced troubleshooting and performing of fault finding tests on LV and MV Electrical systems, machinery and equipment
- Conduct VFL PTO’s on subordinates, learners
- Ensure that material, spares and equipment are available as required
- Ensure proper and adequate on the job training and coaching is provided to subordinates, learners or support personnel and contractors
- Maintains a high quality of work
- Provide advice to relevant staff on equipment repairs and preventative maintenance
- Technical mentor / coach to all learners and skills development programmes passing through the smelter workshop
This role is in the Engineering Department at a C3 level reporting to the Electrical Foreman.
Qualifications

- Recognized Electrical Trade Test Certificate
- Medium Voltage Certificate
- N4 Technical Trade Specific qualification is essential
- Valid South African Driver’s license
