A vacancy exists for a qualified Boilermaker within the Maintenance Department of the Manufacturing Business Unit located in Bellville. This position reports directly to the Maintenance Foreman and plays a key role in maintaining and repairing critical plant and foundry equipment to ensure operational efficiency and minimal downtime.
This is a hands-on role requiring strong mechanical aptitude, practical experience in heavy industry, and the ability to work under pressure, especially in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Applicants must be willing to work night shifts when required and demonstrate a commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities:

Read and interpret technical and mechanical drawings.

Perform fabrication, installation, and repair of piping systems.

Conduct routine and emergency maintenance on foundry and mechanical equipment.

Support breakdown response efforts and ensure quick turnaround.

Adhere to workplace safety and operational procedures.

Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to report issues or suggestions for improvement.
Minimum Requirements:
Qualifications:

Grade 12 or N3 Technical Qualification

Recognised Boilermaker Trade Test Certificate (essential)
Experience:
-
At least 5 years post-trade test experience as a Boilermaker.

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a maintenance environment, preferably in manufacturing or foundry operations.

Strong understanding of foundry processes and equipment.

Experience with pipe fitting and welding techniques.

Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
