As a Plant Operator Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the plant’s daily operations and ensuring smooth and efficient production processes. This role is critical to maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities for the AECI 2025 Learnership Programme

Assist qualified Plant Operators with operational tasks and follow instructions from the Production Team Leader.

Load and offload bulk bags, raw materials, and bulk liquid chemicals safely and accurately.

Fill and empty bags, drums, and other containers in accordance with operational procedures.

Perform general housekeeping duties to maintain cleanliness across all plant areas.

Operate plant equipment under supervision and follow safety procedures at all times.

Accurately complete production and process documentation.

Monitor plant processes independently once competent.

Work safely in confined spaces and at heights as required.

Participate in forklift operation training if necessary.

Be available for shift work, overtime, and ad hoc operational duties as required.
Minimum Requirements:

Grade 12 with Mathematics and Physical Science is essential.

NQF Level 2 unit standards in plant operation training (or willingness to undergo).

Basic computer skills, especially in data entry and MS Office.

Medically fit to work in a chemical plant environment (working at heights and confined spaces).

Age between 18 and 25 years old.

Strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and ability to follow safety protocols.
