Job Overview
As an Apprentice Diesel Mechanic, you will undergo a structured learnership programme that combines technical training and real-world maintenance experience in a busy commercial vehicle workshop environment. Under close supervision, you’ll assist with the routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of commercial vehicles in line with Mercedes-Benz South Africa (MBSA) standards and safety protocols.

Vehicle Maintenance Support

Perform maintenance and repair tasks as assigned on job cards.

Ensure all work meets MBSA flat rate repair time and quality standards.

Seek supervisor input when encountering unfamiliar faults or repair challenges.

Use all workshop tools and equipment correctly and safely.
Customer Service & Workshop Compliance

Handle customer vehicles and property with the highest care and professionalism.

Communicate proactively with the Service Advisor or Foreman about job status, issues, or delays.

Maintain cleanliness and quality standards (e.g., use seat covers, replace parts correctly).

Present replaced parts for customer inspection as required.

Adhere to all company SHE (Safety, Health, and Environmental) policies and legal compliance measures.
Minimum Qualifications:

Matric / Grade 12 with Mathematics and Physical Science

N2 Diesel Mechanic or N2 Electrical Engineering

Computer literacy (MS Office and related platforms)
