Key Responsibilities For The AVI Limited Engineering Cadet Apprentice Opportunity
As an Engineering Cadet Apprentice, your responsibilities will include:

Assisting in the maintenance and operation of the vessel’s engines, propulsion systems, and other mechanical components.

Supporting Engineering Officers in engine room operations and during engineering watchkeeping duties.

Gaining exposure to various systems, including fuel systems, refrigeration, cranes, electrical distribution, and more.

Participating in dry dock operations and contributing to general vessel readiness tasks.

Diligently maintaining the official cadet training record book as part of your on-board training.

Adhering to strict maritime safety regulations and reporting risks or hazards immediately.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Grade 12 (Matric Certificate).

CPUT students must have completed or be in the process of completing S2 of the National Diploma in Maritime Engineering.

Northlink College applicants must have completed Diesel Fitting Phase 1 and 2, plus related theoretical modules.

Internal I&J applicants must have Grade 12 and proven maritime experience.
Preferred Skills & Attributes
