Northam Zondereinde Mine, a prestigious name in South Africa’s Platinum Group Metals (PGM) industry, is proud to offer Engineering Learnerships for 2025. Situated near Thabazimbi in the Limpopo province, Zondereinde is known for producing over 300,000 ounces of PGMs annually and is recognized for its state-of-the-art underground mining operations and world-class metallurgical infrastructure.

These learnerships provide a unique opportunity for motivated individuals to gain practical experience and theoretical knowledge in one of the most technically advanced mining environments in the country.

Available Learnership Disciplines:

• Boilermaking

• Electrical Engineering

• Fitting and Turning

Minimum Entry Requirements:

• N2 Certificate with the following subjects:

  • Mathematics

  • Engineering Science

  • Trade Theory (related to the discipline you’re applying for)

  • One additional subject related to your trade

• Good communication skills in English (both written and verbal)

• Medically fit for underground work

Additional Advantageous Qualifications:

• Grade 12 / Matric

• N3, N4, N5, or N6 in a relevant Engineering discipline

• Documented practical engineering experience (at least 6 months)
