Job Summary

Sibanye-Stillwater, a leading global precious metals mining company, is hiring a Qualified Electrician with strong high-voltage (HV) and substation maintenance experience. This role is ideal for an experienced mining electrician who can ensure the safe and efficient operation of critical electrical infrastructure. You will play a key role in maintaining substations, mini subs, and protection relays, supporting daily operations and long-term asset reliability.

Key Responsibilities For The Electrical artisan jobs 2025 | Sibanye Stillwater 

• Ensure safe, continuous production through effective equipment maintenance.

• Attend daily safety meetings, perform risk assessments, and comply with SHEQ standards.

• Respond to breakdowns and emergencies swiftly and effectively.

• Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance on high-voltage systems.

• Maintain overhead lines, substations, transformers, and switchgear (MV/HV).

• Complete and submit detailed job cards with accurate descriptions of repairs and parts used.

• Train and mentor subordinates to build internal capacity.

• Participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) planning.

• Make recommendations for upgrades or replacements of faulty equipment.

• Ensure environmental compliance during all engineering tasks.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 10 or Technical N2 Certificate

• Qualified Electrician Trade Certificate (from a recognized institution)

• At least 3 years post-apprenticeship experience

• Minimum 5 years’ experience with MV/HV systems and substations

• Must be medically fit to work in a mining environment

• Clear criminal and security record

• Must be willing to work standby and overtime when required

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

• Overhead line experience (advantageous)

• Substation protection relay maintenance

• Good understanding of electrical safety standards and compliance

• Ability to troubleshoot, test, and diagnose electrical systems

• Strong documentation and reporting skills

• Knowledge of RCM, CMMS, and asset care principles
