Artisan Training Opportunity for Matriculants and N2 Graduates

Siyanda Bakgatla Platinum Mine is offering an exciting Apprenticeship Programme for dedicated and motivated individuals aiming to pursue a career as a qualified artisan. This opportunity is aligned with the mine’s commitment to skills development and Employment Equity, with preference given to historically disadvantaged South Africans.

 Purpose of the Apprenticeship Programme

This 3-year registered apprenticeship aims to:

• Provide structured institutional learning and workplace experience aligned with NQF Levels 3–4.

• Develop artisans in line with industry standards and Siyanda Bakgatla Platinum Mine’s operational requirements.

• Ensure competency development through a combination of on-the-job training and formal classroom instruction.

 Key Responsibilities For The 2025 Auto Electrician Learnership Program

• Adhere to all legislative and training requirements outlined in the Learnership Agreement.

• Take responsibility for practical skills development and theoretical learning.

• Actively participate in technical training, assessments, and workplace activities.

• Demonstrate trade competence within the 3-year apprenticeship period.

• Apply critical thinking and problem-solving in trade-specific tasks.

 Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12 (Matric) with:

  • Mathematics (not Mathematical Literacy)

  • Natural Sciences
    OR

• N2 Certificate with four trade-specific subjects (e.g., Engineering Science, Mathematics, Trade Theory, Industrial Electronics)

Required Skills and Attributes:

• Fluent in English (reading, writing, and verbal communication)

• Willingness to learn and grow within the mining industry

• Responsibility for personal development and safety

• Strong teamwork, self-motivation, and adaptability
