 About the Role

Thos Begbie is inviting unemployed youth to apply for an Apprenticeship Training Programme in the trade of Fitter & Turner.

As a Fitter & Turner Apprentice, you will be trained in:

• Assembling, fitting, and maintaining mechanical components

• Reading and interpreting technical drawings

• Operating workshop machinery (lathes, milling machines, etc.)

• Producing work to high-quality standards

• Maintaining a safe and clean work environment

 Minimum Requirements For The Thos Begbie 2026 Apprenticeship Program

• Grade 12 (Matric) certificate

• Minimum N2 Certificate with the following subjects:

  • Mathematics

  • Engineering Science

  • Engineering Drawing

• N3 in Mechanotechnology or N4 in Mechatronics (advantageous)
