Job Summary:
We are looking for a dedicated Artisan Assistant to support mechanics and technicians with the maintenance and repair of machinery and components. This role is ideal for individuals with a hands-on approach, strong work ethic, and commitment to safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist mechanics and artisans with moderate to complex maintenance and repair tasks

• Select and provide the correct tools and equipment to the artisan as needed

• Lift and move parts (up to 20kg manually or using slinging/lifting equipment for heavier components)

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workshop and equipment

• Help source and check parts and components for specific jobs

• Ensure a safe and orderly work environment at all times

Minimum Requirements For The Barloworld Equipment Mechanical Assistant 

• Grade 12 / Matric

• Relevant work experience in a workshop or mechanical environment (advantageous)

• Valid Code B driver’s license (advantageous)

Additional Requirements (to be obtained within 90 days if not already certified):

• Forklift Operator Certification

• Overhead/Jib Crane Operator Certification

Competencies and Skills:

• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions under supervision

• Physically fit and capable of performing manual tasks

• Strong awareness of workplace safety standards
