Introduction

The Air Traffic and Navigation Services State-Owned Company Limited (ATNS SOC Ltd) invites ambitious and enthusiastic graduates to apply for the Engineering Learnership Programme 2025.

This is a structured 24-month learnership designed to provide theoretical training and hands-on practical experience in aviation, air traffic systems, and electronic engineering technologies. Successful candidates will train at the ATNS Aviation Training Academy (ATA) and gain valuable workplace exposure at ATNS operational centres across South Africa.

This programme provides a gateway into the aviation and engineering industry, with opportunities for permanent placement upon completion, based on performance and organisational needs.


Who Qualifies For The ATNS Engineering Learnership Programme 2025

To be considered for this opportunity, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Completed or currently completing a 3-year National Diploma or a Bachelor of Engineering Technology Degree in one of the following fields:

    • Electronic Engineering

    • Computer Engineering

    • Electrical Engineering (Light Current)

  • South African Citizenship with a valid ID

  • Computer literate (MS Office proficiency)

  • Motivated to achieve high performance and quality standards

  • Willingness to learn, adapt, and grow professionally


Programme Structure – What Happens in 24 Months?

The Engineering Learnership is logbook-based and structured around mentorship and coaching.

Phase 1: Theoretical Training (First 8 Months)

  • Introductory training at the ATNS Aviation Training Academy

  • Classroom-based technical modules

  • Exposure to aviation systems, safety standards, and engineering fundamentals

Phase 2: Practical Workplace Exposure (Next 16 Months)

  • Deployment to ATNS operational centres across South Africa

  • Hands-on technical training in aviation infrastructure, navigation systems, and electronic engineering

  • Ongoing assessments, mentorship, and on-the-job coaching

Outcome: At the end of the 24-month programme, ATNS may offer permanent placement depending on vacancies, individual performance, and competency achieved during the learnership.
