About the Opportunity
J. Schipper & Sons, a trusted name in engineering, is offering an exciting Fitter & Turner Apprenticeship for motivated and dedicated individuals who are ready to kickstart a career in the mechanical and engineering trades.
This structured 3-year apprenticeship programme combines formal training at Northlink College with hands-on, practical work experience at our workshop. Apprentices will rotate through different learning phases, gaining the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to build a successful career in the field of Fitting and Turning.
Minimum Requirements For The Schipper 2025 Fitter & Turner Apprenticeship
To be considered for this apprenticeship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Successfully completed schooling at a technical high school, with passes in Mathematics and Technical Drawing.

A genuine interest in engineering, machining, and mechanical trades.

Not older than 25 years.

Reside in the Northern Suburbs, Cape Town.

Must be available to start practical work experience by 1 November 2025 prior to beginning studies in January 2026.

Willing and committed to completing the full 3-year apprenticeship, which includes both college-based theoretical training and on-the-job practical experience.

Previous work experience in an engineering or technical environment will be beneficial but is not a requirement.
