About the ARPL Programme

The Artisan Recognition of Prior Learning (ARPL) Programme provides an opportunity for skilled workers with years of hands-on trade experience, but without formal certification, to gain official artisan recognition. Candidates will undergo a structured evaluation process in key technical fields that are essential for South Africa’s economic growth and community development.


Available Trades

The ARPL placements are open in the following high-demand trades:

  • Plumbers

  • Bricklayers

  • Carpenters

  • Electricians

  • Motor Mechanics

These trades offer excellent career growth prospects and long-term employment opportunities across the country.


Minimum Requirements For The 2025 AGRISETA X170 ARPL Programme

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Education: Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.

  • Experience: At least 3 years of relevant work experience in one of the listed trades, confirmed by a service letter from a previous employer.

  • Must not have participated in a learnership, apprenticeship, or skills programme before.

  • Preference will be given to former Letaba TVET College students.

  • People with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply.
