Valterra Platinum is inviting applications for its Engineering Learnership Programme (18.2 – Unemployed) — a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience, expand your technical knowledge, and explore the exciting world of engineering within the mining industry.

Opportunities Available

• Learnership: Electrician (x1)

• Learnership: Boilermaker Plater (x2)

Programme Overview

What the programme offers:

• Structured training including both classroom (off-the-job) and workplace learning.

• On successful completion, learners will obtain a nationally recognised Artisan qualification.

Minimum Entry Requirements For Valterra Platinum 2025 Engineering Learnership Programme

Applicants must meet one of the following:

• Matric with Mathematics (not Mathematical Literacy), Physical Science, and English (minimum 40% in each), OR

• N2 or higher with relevant trade subjects:

  • Boilermaker Plater: Plating & Structural Steelwork / Welders Theory and Plating Structural & Steelwork Drawings

  • Electrical: Electrical Trade Theory / Electrotechnology / Electrotechnics and Industrial Electronics, or Engineering Drawings

• NCV Level 4 in the appropriate trade, with all subjects passed at a minimum of 40%.

Application Requirements

Applications must include:

• A comprehensive CV

• Certified copies of all relevant qualifications

• A copy of your South African ID

• Proof of residence (with an official stamp from the relevant tribal office or municipality) – required for host community applicants

• Preference will be given to qualifying candidates from host communities.
