SA Power Services is currently seeking an Electrical Apprentice to join our dynamic team in Randburg, Johannesburg. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual looking to qualify in the electrical trade and gain hands-on experience in electrical and electronic systems.
Key Responsibilities of the Electrical Apprentice:
Assist with electrical and electronic repairs and mechanical repairs.
Aid in electrical installations and ensure compliance with industry standards.
Interpret and execute electrical drawings, schematics, and electrical code specifications.
Conduct tests on electrical equipment and parts, measuring continuity, current, voltage, and resistance.
Install, repair, or replace AC/DC motors, drives, transformers, motors, starters, relays, and electrical controls.
Maintain and repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, lighting, and other electrical components.
Perform preventive maintenance and test electrical systems, including power distribution equipment.
Install and configure electrical circuits, panels, conduit, protection devices, and switches.
Correct wiring and connections on equipment controls to prevent unsafe conditions.
Adhere to industry standards, safety manuals, and regulations at all times.
Minimum Requirements:
National Senior Certificate (Matric/Grade 12) with strong results in Mathematics, Physical Science, and Technical Drawings.
Alternatively, an N2 or N3 technical certificate with subjects such as Mathematics, Industrial Electronics, Electrical Trade Theory, and Engineering Science.
A keen interest in pursuing a career in the electrical trade and willingness to learn on the job.
