Applications are invited from suitably qualified and career-driven individuals to join our full-time Technical Apprentice Programmes administered by the Technical Learning Academy (TLA) — an industry-leading initiative focused on uplifting technical and trade skills within the organisation and the community.
This programme is officially supported by the Union.

Programme Overview

• Structured full-time technical apprenticeship with practical and theory-based training

• Delivered by the Technical Learning Academy (TLA)

• Designed to develop future-certified artisans across critical technical disciplines

• Internal employees will return to a vacant Production role after completion

Minimum Entry Requirements For The VW Technical Apprentice Programmes 2025

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Matric (Grade 12) with Core Mathematics and Physical Science
  → Maths Literacy will not be accepted

• OR N3 qualification (4 relevant subjects incl. Math + Physical Science) or higher

• Must select a 1st and 2nd choice field of training

• Must be willing to study part-time as required

• No overtime will be permitted during programme unless pre-authorised

Selection Process

• Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed by an official selection panel

• Motivation letter required — including your preferred field of study (e.g. Electrical, Fitting, etc.)

Please ensure your application includes:

• Certified copy of National ID (not older than 3 months)

• Certified highest school/college qualification (not older than 3 months)

• Motivation letter stating why you want to join the programme + preferred trade field

• Active cellphone number + alternative contact number

• Internal Permanent VW Employees only: Current job title + SAP number

Important Notes

• Employees who have previously completed a TLA Apprenticeship / Learnership will not be considered

• Only applications submitted via the Hello Success virtual platform will be accepted
