Exxaro Resources is seeking a skilled and experienced Master Electrician to join our Matla Coal Business Unit in Kriel, Mpumalanga. This role is critical to ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our electrical infrastructure within a high-performance mining environment.
You will be responsible for the installation, repair, maintenance, and optimisation of electrical systems, while driving operational excellence, safety compliance, and innovation. Minimum Requirements For The Exxaro X2 Artisan Electricians

Grade 12 / Standard 10 with Technical Qualification (Essential)

N3 Engineering Certificate in a relevant field (Essential)

Trade Certification: Electrician (MQA/QCTO) (Essential)

Basic Management Programme completed (Essential)

Public Driver’s License – Code C (Essential)

MS Office proficiency (Essential)

Psychometric Assessment & Certificate of Fitness – To be conducted by Exxaro (Essential)

3 years’ experience in technical maintenance within heavy industry, production, or mining (Recommended)

Competence in Core and On-the-Job MQA Modules (Essential)
Key Responsibilities

Perform electrical installation, maintenance, and repair work to ensure operational reliability and safety compliance

Support daily maintenance operations, collaborating with the foreman and completing job cards accurately

Conduct inspections of electrical tools, equipment, HT substations, and MCC rooms, addressing defects proactively
-
Execute routine and preventative maintenance plans, including breakdown recovery
-
Uphold SHEC standards, reporting incidents timeously and ensuring full PPE compliance

Mentor apprentices and artisans, driving operational excellence through skills transfer and SOP adherence

Lead technical improvements, staying current with industry innovations and applying new technologies where relevant

Participate in talent and culture development, driving your personal growth and contributing to a high-performance environment

Quickly identify and address unsafe practices, reporting potential hazards and ensuring technical compliance at all times
