Tiger Brands, South Africa’s leading fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) manufacturer, is inviting applications for its Milling Apprenticeship Programme 2025.

This structured two-year training programme is designed to equip aspiring millers with the technical expertise and practical experience required to build a successful career in wheat and maize milling operations.

The apprenticeship blends theoretical instruction with hands-on learning at Tiger Brands’ world-class milling facilities, ensuring participants gain in-depth knowledge of production management, food safety, and operational efficiency.

Successful candidates will be mentored by experienced professionals and trained to become qualified Millers capable of managing complex manufacturing processes within the food production environment.


Programme Overview

As a Milling Apprentice, you will:

  • Participate in a comprehensive two-year learning programme covering the theory and practice of milling operations.

  • Gain hands-on experience in grain processing, quality control, equipment calibration, and maintenance.

  • Learn to manage production schedules, monitor process parameters, and ensure compliance with food safety standards.

  • Develop skills in problem-solving, plant optimisation, and process improvement.

  • Receive formal training aligned with the requirements of the milling trade qualification.

  • Work within Tiger Brands’ state-of-the-art milling facilities, contributing to the company’s tradition of excellence in food manufacturing.


Minimum Requirements For Tiger Brands Apprentice Program 2025

To qualify for consideration, applicants must meet the following minimum criteria:

  • Grade 12 / Matric certificate, preferably with Mathematics and Physical Science.

  • Relevant technical or engineering background advantageous (N2–N4).

  • Strong interest in food manufacturing and milling operations.

  • Good communication, analytical, and teamwork skills.

  • Physically fit and able to work in a manufacturing environment.

  • Willingness to work shifts and overtime when required.

  • South African citizen aged 18–35 years.
