Key Responsibilities For Housekeeping – Protea Hotels by Marriott

Guest Room and Public Area Maintenance

• Clean, sanitize, and maintain guest rooms to the highest standards
• Change bed linen, replenish amenities, and ensure rooms are fully prepared for new guests
• Maintain cleanliness in public areas such as lobbies, corridors, and shared spaces
• Ensure all areas are visually appealing and meet brand standards

Guest Interaction and Service

• Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests
• Provide a friendly and helpful service experience
• Ensure guest satisfaction by maintaining a clean and comfortable environment
• Contribute to creating a welcoming and positive atmosphere throughout the hotel

Housekeeping Operations

• Stock, organize, and maintain housekeeping carts and supplies
• Use cleaning equipment and materials safely and effectively
• Identify and report maintenance issues or damages
• Support team members to ensure smooth daily operations

Safety, Quality, and Compliance

• Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
• Ensure compliance with health, hygiene, and safety standards
• Uphold Marriott’s quality and service standards consistently

Physical and Work Requirements

This is a physically active role that requires:

• Standing, walking, and moving for extended periods
• Performing repetitive cleaning tasks throughout the shift
• Lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling items up to 23kg
• Working in a fast-paced and demanding environment

Flexibility is essential, as shifts may include weekends, public holidays, and varying working hours depending on operational needs.
