Overview: Join our team as an Apprentice Artisan and gain hands-on experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance. You will develop valuable skills through a structured training plan and receive guidance from qualified Artisans/Technicians while working in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities For The AECI Electrician Apprentice Program
Gain Expertise in Your Trade: Learn and apply technical skills in your designated trade (Electrical or Mechanical).
Formal Training and Progression: Participate in an apprenticeship training program, attend necessary training sessions, and assessments to meet competency goals.
Competency Achievement: Perform key duties and make consistent progress in line with your training plan.
Record Maintenance: Maintain and submit your training record (logbook) to your employer or training organization when requested.
Adhere to Workplace Guidelines: Follow all workplace instructions and ensure that all training materials remain the employer’s property.
Maintenance of Plant Equipment: Assist in the maintenance, repair, and optimization of plant equipment and devices under the supervision of experienced Artisans/Technicians.
Collaborative Work: Work effectively with team members to ensure the successful completion of maintenance tasks and objectives.
Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance: Follow safety regulations and proactively identify unsafe conditions to ensure a safe working environment.
Electrical Installations and Reticulation: Handle cable reticulation, industrial, and domestic electrical installations, including electrical circuits and motors.
Testing and Commissioning: Assist in testing and commissioning new electrical equipment.
Tool Usage: Efficiently use hand tools and power tools in line with safety practices.
Adhere to AECI Safety Standards: Comply with AECI’s safety standards, codes of practice, and regulations.
Qualifications & Experience Required:
Grade 12 (Matric): Must have passed Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science.
N3 Qualification: Required to apply for Trade Test.
Driver’s License (Preferred): A valid driver’s license is advantageous.
Understanding of Process Plant Maintenance: Basic knowledge of process plant operations and the importance of regular maintenance.
Health Clearance: Ability to obtain the necessary health clearance for working in a chemical environment.
