Job Description
Motus Toyota Kempton Park is currently looking for an Apprentice Level 1 to join our team. This role reports to the Service Manager and is ideal for an individual passionate about repairing motor vehicles and aspiring to become a qualified Motor Mechanic Technician. The successful candidate will undergo an Apprenticeship Training Program lasting up to four years, gaining hands-on experience in the automotive industry.
Position Overview
The Apprentice will assist with various vehicle repairs under the supervision of a qualified technician, learning the skills required to advance into a full Motor Mechanic Technician role.
Key Responsibilities For The Apprentice Level 1 Vacancy at Toyota
- Assist with the repair of vehicles following instructions from a qualified technician.
- Remove and replace parts and components from vehicles.
- Lift vehicles and secure them on trestles for repair work.
- Lubricate and change oils according to manufacturer specifications (under supervision).
- Remove and replace wheels, air filters, and oil filters.
- Assist with general vehicle repairs, including battery removal and fitting.
- Maintain a clean workspace, including cleaning parts and adhering to housekeeping standards.
- Attend and complete prescribed technical courses as part of the apprenticeship program.
- Perform additional tasks as directed, ensuring the smooth operation of the service department.
- Ensure tools and equipment are kept in good working condition and overalls and work areas are kept clean.
- Comply with all safety protocols and rules.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Grade 12 with Pure Mathematics and Physical Science.
- Preference will be given to candidates with a Motor Mechanic Trade Qualification.
- A valid driver’s license is advantageous.
- Clear criminal record is essential.

- Technical skills in motor vehicle repair are advantageous.
