We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Technician to monitor, maintain, and repair equipment and machinery while ensuring compliance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and safety regulations. This role involves preventative and corrective maintenance, ensuring optimal production efficiency, and applying process engineering techniques to enhance equipment functionality.

 

Key Responsibilities For The Aspen Maintenance Artisan| Contract

Planning & Operational Support

Serve as a technical expert and subject matter resource.

 

Implement and optimize maintenance processes and procedures.

 

Identify gaps in policies and suggest improvements.

 

Train staff on SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and equipment maintenance.

 

Production Facility Maintenance

Develop and execute maintenance schedules aligned with the Production Plan.

 

Perform preventative maintenance and equipment inspections per SOPs.

 

Troubleshoot machine breakdowns, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.

 

Replace defective components and ensure machinery operates at peak efficiency.

 

Maintain workshop tools and assets while ensuring compliance with safety standards.

 

Request necessary parts, materials, and specialized equipment for machine upkeep.

 

Mechanical Engineering & Equipment Optimization

Calibrate machines as per manuals and ensure safeguards are in place.

 

Identify and resolve equipment deviations to prevent quality issues and reduce outsourcing costs.

 

Conduct inspections of service equipment and report status updates.

 

Assist with machine changeovers to support production efficiency.

 

Provide input for asset life cycle optimization and equipment replacement.

 

Reporting & Documentation

Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.

 

Submit work requisitions and manage job cards efficiently.

 

Skills & Qualifications

Background & Experience

Trade Tested Mechanical Artisan (Fitter, Fitter & Turner, or Millwright) with 2–4 years’ post-apprenticeship experience.

 

Pharmaceutical Technician Certificate is a plus.

 

Previous experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing and packaging systems.

 

Technical Expertise

Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing standards and compliance requirements.

 

Ability to interpret technical drawings and equipment manuals.

 

Proficiency in troubleshooting and mechanical maintenance best practices.

 

Physically capable of handling heavy equipment.
