Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician with experience in boilermaking, fitting, toolmaking, or electrical/mechanical maintenance to join our team in a dynamic automotive manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance, equipment inspections, fault finding, and supporting continuous production uptime.


Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric) or N2 technical qualification (Automotive or Mechanical/Electrical)

  • Relevant trade qualification or artisan background (Millwright, Fitter, Toolmaker, etc.)

  • Proven maintenance experience in an automotive manufacturing or industrial setting

  • Own reliable transportation

  • Clear criminal record


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Basic technical fault detection in electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems

  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 quality and environmental management standards

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint

  • Ability to develop, use, and improve maintenance systems

  • Sound communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team

  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving


Key Responsibilities for the Atlantis Foundries 2025 Apprentice Program

Your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Perform planned and reactive maintenance on production equipment

  • Conduct daily machine inspections, identify abnormalities, and take preventative action

  • Inspect, maintain, and repair production jigs, trolleys, and hand tools

  • Support production teams by ensuring operational equipment is well-maintained and clean

  • Diagnose and resolve faults in electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems

  • Report and log equipment breakdowns and maintenance activities accurately

  • Monitor and maintain portable and hand power tools, ensuring safety and functionality

  • Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards
